Meet The Owner
I've been interested in how things work for as long as I can remember.
Hey there - I'm Ryan! Between fixing weapons systems on ships in the Navy to building rockets for Elon at SpaceX, my career has revolved around understanding how machines work.
My team of technicians in the SpaceX factory. We built a part of the Falcon 9 rocket called the payload fairing.
How Did It Start?
I decided to leverage my technical background to build something new: a site to help homeowners power their homes during a power outage for a low cost. I had seen tons of options online, but they were ridiculously expensive.
And as a homeowner myself, I wondered: is there some way to provide power during outages that isn't crazy expensive?
Turns out, there are budget-friendly options. And we have them here at American Power Supply (APS for short). From humble beginnings, we've since grown to host a large amount of reliable equipment that has helped folks all across the US.
About The Content
I own and operate APS. You'll see my work on our blogs, social media posts, and videos of the gear we sell. I use my in-depth knowledge that has come from careful study plus my hands-on use of the equipment that we sell here.
I own the company and produce all its content. Nothing is outsourced, meaning that everything you see is authentically from me. I've written every word and created every video. I believe this speaks to our authenticity as a company.
I strive to produce the world wide web's best content on portable generator usage. I'm building up an arsenal of accurate, reliable information to teach you the ins and outs of portable power equipment.
From maintenance, to wattage calculations, to basic electricity - we cover it all here.
It's More Than A Company
For me, it's personal: as a homeowner in the Midwest, power outages are so common that I feel very much at home helping folks find high-quality power solutions when the lights cut out. I want my hands-on experience to make you confident in our products.
The ultimate goal? Getting you to the point where you're not worried about the next outage.
I look forward to working with you to power your home when you need it the most. Are you Power Ready?
